Panchakarma is a unique modality of treatment consists of Vamana (Therapeutic emesis), Virechana (purgation therapy), Anuvasana Basti (enema therapy using medicated oils), Niruha Basti (decoction enema) and Nasya Karma (administration of medicine through the nostrils). Panchakarma is concerned with the bio – purificatory treatment modalities with a specific designed format arranged with proper designed pre operative and post operative regimens for various conditions. Panchakarma is also a rejuvenation therapy in Ayurveda. The Panchakarma approach to disease prevention & treatment is a combination of mainly five treatment techniques that revitalizes patients by restoring their physical and mental equilibrium. Panchakarma treatment is unique, since it ensures both short-term and long-term well-being of the individual.
The Department of Panchakarma at Monark Ayurved Hospital has an OPD, IPD, Panchakarma Therapy Block with Male and Female therapy rooms for each type of procedure. It is also equipped with instruments like Basti Yantra, ShirodharaYantra, Droni, Avagahana Yantra, Swedana Yantra, etc., and instruments for doing para-surgical procedures like Raktamokshana, Agnikarma, etc. Treatment modalities of the patients are done in the Panchakarma theatre by the experienced therapists according to specific time schedule under supervision of Panchkarma consultant. Various formulations specific for different diseases according to the condition of the patient are also prepared in the department, for the better management of the IPD patients. Up until now, many patients affected with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Paralysis, Low Back Ache, Facial Palsy, Ankylosis, Spondylitis, Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis, Psoriasis, Insomnia, Spondylosis, etc. have experienced relief by different treatment procedures.
